The bespoke engagement ring was co-designed in secret through a private consultation between Scott and LKC. Every element of the design was developed with personal meaning in mind, resulting in a piece that reflects Aesha’s personality and the people closest to her.

Scott began working with Layla months before the proposal, carefully crafting a ring that would honour her family and experiences that shaped Aesha’s life. When the time came to design the wedding band, Aesha returning to LKC was a natural continuation of that story.

 

The Bespoke Wedding Band

Designing a bespoke wedding band to accompany an existing bespoke engagement ring requires a careful balance between aesthetic harmony and precise engineering.

In early 2026, Aesha joined Layla for a private bespoke consultation at the LKC Studio in Auckland, where the two discussed the vision and direction for creating her bespoke wedding band.

During the consultation, Aesha shared her affinity for both white and champagne-toned stones, expressing a desire for a mix of diamond cuts, including princess, round and baguette, to achieve a more varied and dynamic layout. The intention was to create a band that would complement her bespoke engagement ring while introducing its own subtle character.

The final piece was carefully designed to follow the proportions and profile of the bespoke engagement ring, allowing the two pieces to sit seamlessly together when worn. The interplay of diamond cuts and tones creates a gentle movement across the band, complementing the bespoke engagement ring while maintaining a refined sense of balance between the two designs.

Aesha reflected on the finished bespoke creation with Layla saying "I can never say thank you enough times, but thank you for my ring, it is just sooo perfect and stunning, and so my taste, i can't stop looking at it!".

After the wedding, she later remarked "but how good do these [bespoke rings] look together, im SO happy!".

 

The Bespoke Engagement Ring

In October 2023, Scott Dobson began working secretly with Layla Kaisi Collection to design a bespoke engagement ring for Aesha Scott. The co-authored ring would honour the journey they had already shared while symbolising the many meaningful years they are to build together.

As Aesha later shared in an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Scott intentionally approached Layla to create the ring because he knew how much she had long admired the designer’s work. The result was a bespoke design created in secret: a piece that would not only mark their engagement, but also capture the sentiment, symbolism and personal story behind their relationship.

At the centre of Aesha’s bespoke engagement ring sits a round brilliant-cut diamond secured by six distinctive claws, allowing light to move freely through the stone.

Surrounding the centre diamond is a medley of seven accent stones. Each was placed intentionally to represent the people closest to Aesha, forming a symbolic constellation of family and support around the central stone.

Among these diamonds sits a champagne-toned stone chosen to honour Aesha’s late brother, adding a deeply personal layer of meaning to the ring’s design.

The ring itself is set in an 18-carat yellow gold band, representing Scott’s role as a constant presence in Aesha’s life. Even the hidden details carry symbolism: a small diamond set inside the band represents Scott’s birthstone; a private element designed only for Aesha to feel.

Rather than following traditional engagement ring conventions, the piece was conceived as a personal narrative: a ring designed to hold meaning within every element of its structure.
